Sustainability moves forward step by step, and sometimes, those steps are taken very close by. This week, the Generalitat of Catalonia announced a groundbreaking pilot project: fishermen in Tarragona and the Ebro will test boxes made from rice husk to transport fish. This initiative not only aims to reduce plastic use in the fishing industry but also to give new value to an agricultural waste that is abundant in the Delta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These boxes, which will be distributed among the fishing guilds, are made with Oryzite, an innovative material that revalues rice husk and turns it into a viable, resistant, and far more sustainable alternative than conventional packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
